Sis. Drenica Brunson
Drenica Brunson is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She’s a graduate of Howard University where she received her Bachelors of Business Administration (Information Systems) and her Master’s degree in Technology Management from University of Maryland University College. Beyond being an IT professional, Drenica served in Music Ministry for over 25 years inspired by cultural influences of her hometown.
Drenica’s compassion as an advocate for mental health awareness began over 20 years through her own personal experience. Having dealt with panic disorder it has been her desire to create a healing space where individuals who endure challenges of life management or mental health can share their struggles that would otherwise seem invisible to others. Drenica’s stance is that we should remove the stigma of mental health and the veil of negative connotations. Although, Drenica is not a mental health professional she believes that the healing process can begin with acceptance and building trusted inner circles for those who feel they are suffering alone. This commitment has become her focused purpose and mission.
In her past time, Drenica enjoys spending time with her family; working with youth by cultivating their talents; and fulfilling her passion for music. Drenica is married to Karl Brunson and have three beautiful children.
